As the first manufacturer to commit to this category, Stellantis Motorsport reaffirms its ambition to make motorsport accessible to all, without compromising on safety, quality, or performance. Developed in collaboration with experienced drivers and tested under demanding conditions, the 208 Racing FR6 embodies Stellantis Motorsport's core values: dynamism, accessibility, and driving pleasure. A true race car, it is designed for both emerging talents and seasoned drivers alike.

The Stellantis Motorsport technical team has harnessed all its expertise to make the Peugeot 208 Racing an exemplary model. Technicians, engineers, and mechanics applied proven methods used in the development of vehicles like the 208 Rally4, C3 Rally2, and 208 Racing Cup. The lioness has covered several thousand kilometers in tests under varied conditions to ensure its reliability and durability.

The development of the Peugeot 208 Racing involved top-level drivers at every stage, including Yoann Bonato, Léo Rossel, Alexandre Bengué, Teddy and Jimmy Clairet, as well as the crew Jordan Berfa - Bastien Dumas. Their feedback and expertise in fine-tuning helped define handling and driving dynamics suited to all driver profiles, whether beginner or experienced. The Peugeot 208 Racing is developed by drivers, for drivers. Yoann Bonato, five-time French Asphalt Rally Champion and Stellantis Motorsport development driver, says: “The Peugeot 208 Racing is easy to drive, lively, really fun and enjoyable. It suits all types of drivers; I always enjoyed driving it during development sessions.” Léo Rossel adds: “It’s a true rally car that feels safe and allows you to focus on driving and pace notes. I wish I had started rallying with the Peugeot 208 Racing.”

With this project, Stellantis Motorsport reaffirms its long-term commitment to motorsport development by making competition more accessible without sacrificing quality and safety.

ACCESSIBILITY:

Accessibility has always been a core value at Stellantis Motorsport. From development to after-sales, every service and team member works to make motorsport more affordable.

More affordable, in terms of driving.

Inspired by its illustrious predecessors, the Peugeot 208 Racing allows teams to focus on the essentials: the art of driving. The latest model from Peugeot Sport’s workshops has everything needed to learn, improve, and master driving techniques: heel-and-toe, trail braking, weight transfer, slip angle, and more.

Stellantis Motorsport development teams have optimized every detail to instill confidence in the driver. The use of high-quality OEM mechanical components in the steering and braking systems, along with fine-tuned suspension geometry, ensures predictable and progressive handling. Additionally, the standard Michelin Pilot Sport PS5 tires fitted on the Peugeot 208 Racing reach optimal performance quickly and offer balanced, effective grip.

The use of standard tires, a distinctive and deliberate choice, is also driven by a strong commitment to reducing running costs.

More affordable, through cost reduction.

Stellantis Motorsport continuously innovates to make our shared passion more accessible. The Peugeot 208 Racing exclusively uses superethanol-E85 fuel, significantly reducing CO2 emissions (by an estimated 30% according to IFPEN) and notably lowering fuel costs (estimated at 40% less than SP98 based on 2024 prices in France).

Cost reduction is also expressed through a focus on durability. Reliability is the foundation of performance, as the saying goes: “To finish first, first you have to finish.” The selection of materials, components, and OEM parts for the Peugeot 208 Racing follows the same demanding quality standards applied to Rally4 and Rally2 programs, acclaimed worldwide. The proven 3-cylinder turbo engine remains in the 208 Racing, recognized as one of the most reliable and economical engines in motorsport. Together, these choices lead to a modern, new, race-ready car offering the best value for money to date.

At Stellantis Motorsport, accessibility will never mean compromise.

SAFETY:

We never compromise on safety. From the project’s earliest designs, crew safety has been central. The Peugeot 208 Racing incorporates safety elements already deployed in the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, and Lancia Ypsilon Rally4. François Wales, Stellantis Motorsport Customer Racing Director, explains: “We chose to equip the Peugeot 208 Racing with the best safety standard available for two-wheel-drive rally cars, FIA Rally4 regulation: the roll cage is welded, Rally4-type; the onboard fire safety system complies with Rally4, featuring three automatic systems, including a 360° nozzle.”

Moreover, the Peugeot 208 Racing is built on one of Stellantis’ shared B-segment platforms. It benefits from engineering expertise, years of R&D, and major advancements in OEM chassis development.

Assembled at the Stellantis Motorsport workshops in France, the Peugeot 208 Racing meets the highest production standards and specifications.

PERFORMANCE:

Accessible and safe, the Peugeot 208 Racing is still a true race car. Inside, the cockpit offers a motorsport-focused environment inspired by upper-category Rally4 cars: anti-glare dashboard, digital display with multiple screens, kill switch, and central console with controls. The Peugeot 208 Racing features a motorsport-grade electronic architecture, including an ECU and racing wiring harness. Besides simplifying reliability, this setup enables data acquisition and analysis, essential tools for improving driver performance.

With a turbocharged engine producing 145* hp and an empty weight of just 1050 kg, the Peugeot 208 Racing impresses. Corner after corner, drivers will appreciate the wide power band and short-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox. Equally impressive are the finely tuned suspension and braking systems developed by Stellantis Motorsport. Agile and responsive, the Peugeot 208 Racing delivers pure driving thrills to anyone bold enough to take the wheel.
